Graphic Designer
(Beta Design Lead)

She Plays | Contract | Remote

About She Plays

She Plays is building the first platform dedicated to empowering female and non-binary athletes to own, express, and monetize their personal brands—on their terms.

We are currently in beta, working hands-on with a small group of athletes to bring their brands to life across merchandise, digital experiences, and storytelling. This phase is highly iterative, deeply creative, and foundational to everything we will scale.

The Role

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to lead design execution and iteration during our beta program.

This is not a production-only role. You will work directly with the founding team to shape the visual language of athlete brands, translate identity into tangible products, and help define what “great” looks like for She Plays at scale.

You will be designing in real time—collaborating with athletes, refining based on feedback, and building repeatable systems for future growth.

What You’ll Do

1. Athlete Brand Development

  • Translate athlete identity into visual systems (color, typography, mood, tone)

  • Create mood boards and visual directions based on guided brand sessions

  • Design logos, marks, and visual assets for individual athletes

2. Merchandise Design

  • Design athlete-led merchandise (apparel, accessories, limited drops)

  • Prepare production-ready files for platforms like Printful / Printify

  • Balance creativity with wearability and commercial viability

3. Iteration & Collaboration

  • Work directly with athletes during feedback cycles

  • Rapidly iterate on designs based on real user input

  • Collaborate closely with product, marketing, and founders

4. System Building

  • Identify patterns across athlete brands to create scalable templates

  • Help define design standards and brand guardrails for the platform

  • Contribute to building a repeatable design process for onboarding future athletes

What We’re Looking For

Core Skills

  • Strong graphic design portfolio (branding + apparel/merch preferred)

  • Experience designing for physical products (print-ready files, mockups, production awareness)

  • High proficiency in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva (bonus)

Creative Strength

  • Ability to translate personality into design (not just aesthetics)

  • Strong instincts for trends in sports, fashion, and creator culture

  • A point of view—you don’t just execute, you shape

Working Style

  • Comfortable in ambiguity and fast iteration cycles

  • Collaborative and communicative (you’ll work directly with athletes)

  • Detail-oriented but able to move quickly

Bonus (Not Required)

  • Experience working with athletes, creators, or influencers

  • Apparel or streetwear design background

  • Interest in women’s sports and athlete empowerment

What Success Looks Like

  • Athletes feel deeply seen and excited about their brand

  • Designs translate into products people genuinely want to wear

  • We establish a repeatable design system for scaling beyond beta

  • She Plays develops a recognizable and differentiated aesthetic

Why This Role Matters

This role will directly shape how athletes show up in the world.

You are not just designing graphics—you are helping athletes define and own their identity, and building the visual foundation of a platform designed to change the future of women’s sports.
